“Enlightening - great tools to take away to use in your own life. Uplifting!”

On 16th and 17th February, Vectis Housing ran a free, two day GOALS course.
The purpose of the GOALS course is to increase self-esteem and help create a positive outlook on life through developing new ways of thinking, coping and

behaving.
VHA have received European Social Funding (ESF) from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation, to offer a programme of support for people who are

unemployed or economically inactive and who are interested in getting into employment or training. This was the first of three GOALS courses planned as part

of this programme, and the feedback received from participants has been extremely positive.

Two Vectis tenants from East Cowes said the course was “enlightening and very interesting” and that it was “two days to help change my life”. Jane from Chale

was even more complimentary; “what a wonderful course delivered by an inspirational man. It reminded me of what a good person I am, how far I have come and

how far I can go”. Tenant Forum member Ian Hopkins attended the course. He said it was “Fantastic! A great two day course”.

There are two more opportunities to book a place on this course which is open to any residents aged 16 and over who are not currently employed. The next dates

are the 4th and 5th April and the 15th and 16th June. The course is free, takes place at Quay Arts in Newport and support can be given with transport and

childcare costs.

If you would like to book a place on either of these courses call us at Vectis Housing Association on 01983 520353.
