Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

At Vectis we understand that fairness, inclusion and valuing diversity needs to be central to the way we work. This should extend to all of our activities and cover all people who come in to contact with us.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to unlawful discrimination, all forms of hate crime and domestic violence and we will take action against perpetrators and look to support victims wherever we are able. We have signed up to the CIH Pledge to Make a Stand against domestic Violence.

As a registered social housing provider, we carry out a public function which means that we have responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 (known as the public sector equality duty), to promote equality and diversity and to eradicate unfair discrimination. Our commitment is that no group receives less favourable treatment from us in housing or recruitment and that the other services we provide. We are also fully aware of our responsibility towards those tenants and service users falling within the protected characteristics defined within the Single Equality Act. Further details can be found here.

As an organisation, we support and uphold the laws and regulations relating to equality and diversity. We aim to ensure that people are treated fairly and have equal access to services and employment opportunities. You can read our EDI Statement here. Our full approach to equality and diversity is outlined in our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy
